Wow, 2025 is almost over
2025/12/27
Hey, how have you been?
I’m doing pretty well, hope you’re doing well too :)
I talked about the plans for the website’s revamp at the last ramble. Today, I’m sharing the results. Also, 2025 is almost over (what do you mean 2025 is almost ove–), so I thought I'd write about how my 2025 went and my plans for 2026! [Jump to "2025 review and 2026 plans"]
So, let’s start with the “HandRambles Winter Revamp Update!!!11!1” results!
Here was the plan for the revamp:
and uhh… I did not finish it. lol.
BUT! Other than “Make it mobile friendly,” “Get my color palettes right,” and “Ignore all previous plans and just rewrite the damn code,” I was on plan!
Yay? Yay!
The screenshots were taken on 2025/12/27 on an iPad in light mode. Pages may look different on other devices and may be changed or removed in the future. If you want to see how the current page looks, click the image! Each image is linked to the page shown.
Organize my very messy code (and actually use style.css)
Moved a lot of the style code into style.css. It's a lot easier to code now, like wow (o_o)
This screenshot is not an existing page, so clicking it is meaningless.
Fix the comment section
Finally, the comment section is working! This was a problem from back when I made this site, so I am sooo happy it is now fixed. I also changed the name from "Comments" to "Guestbook", for anyone who're wondering.
Add buttons / Add more buttons
Added a filter button for the Art Gallery. It's the white boxes with blue letters written "Finished Art", "Concept", "Fan Art" and "Doodle / Sketch." I'm not satisfied with how it works, so might change it in the future.
Clean up the layouts
Merged the "About", "Interests" and "Links" section into "About / Links", all in one. The second image shows where the "Interests" section went.
Also made my homepage Christmassy around Dec 24–25.
2025 review and 2026 plans
Now it's time for 2025 review and 2026 plans!
To be honest, I don't remember much around January to June. My memory is like a quadratic function, if you know what I mean. That's a weird way to describe it, why did I phrase it like that?

Anyway, 2025 for me was, well, a year with a lot of changes and encounters. But at the same time, it didn't feel that different from other years. It was a weird year.
Gaming
One big change was starting to game on PC. I used to play video games on Nintendo Switch. When I first started gaming, I mostly knew big titles, so I didn’t worry much about not finding the games I was interested in at stores.
But as the years went by, my interests changed, and I started getting into a lot of indie games. So right after 2025 started, I moved to Steam!
And I am having a blast with it. I really am! I spent most of the year trying to catch up on games I'd always wanted to play, so maybe starting in 2026, I'll begin playing more games for the first time without spoilers.
Hobbies? IDK
Another big thing was starting this website! I learned about the existence of today's indie web around September. Thought it was cool, went straight to making my own, and now I'm here! I was thinking about expressing myself on the Internet someday, and this, this was the perfect spot for it.
It's also super fun checking out other people's work! It really gives you the impression of who they are, because of the wide range of changes you can make. I wish indie web becomes a huge hit again, I want to see what more people will do with it.
Got a bit off track there. I mostly finished the base of the kind of site I want it to be, so from now on, I'll be adding more of my creations, not just drawings. Like short stories, music, videos, and of course, game development. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do next year, but I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun doing it.
People
I met a lot of people this year. Or should I say I learned a lot about them?
They shared with me about their hobbies, works, favorite things, episodes in their life, etc. Some people told me about what they think is important in their lives! Every encounter was inspiring. I found a lot of cool new people on the Internet too!
I really enjoy learning about others. Everyone has their own life and their way of living. You'll never know about it until you talk to them. That's what I learned this year.
I'm not good at keeping conversations interesting, and sometimes I get embarrassed when talking to people, but I want to challenge myself to talk to others more next year. I may have the most embarrassing conversation of my life, but it's still better than not taking action at all.
That's about it with today's ramble! It's longer then usual, not very scripted. But thanks for staying with me this far :) I'll probably see you in 2026.
Have a happy new year! HandRambles out.
